I think it's just the propaganda machine being efficient. All the major social media platforms are owned by billionaires (except blue sky but not sure there's nearly as many users compared to twit/meta/reddit) and they're manipulated to push the interests of the elites.
On your last point, I don't think Dems could've done anything different. They're clearly in Israel pockets and they can't disobey their corporate overlords and run on a more progressive agenda. Only other option was to try hard to get the "centrists". Incredibly disappointing as they would rather lose and go hard fascist rather than let their donors lose any money (how's that stock market looking?).
I took it as "Put him, alone, in the middle of people his country is currently genociding so so he can see the horrors of Genocide, the kind his own people once faced. This should reframe why his Nazi salute was a poor decision." But I can see how it can be interpreted the other way by looking at the "with no help" part.
Honestly, I don't think there's going back to any level of normal. Maybe by quickly destroying the system, we will be able to quickly rebuild it (after all the destruction to everyone's lives)
As a politician? Arguably no since he's not the one making decisions.
Hes so very clearly nothing but a figure head. His boss in Russia, the heritage foundation and their billionaire backers are commanding him. The fuckin guy was told to shut up by a child, in the white house while Elon was behind the desk answering questions. I think part of the game plan is to make America look as dumb/inept as possible and it is working beautifully.
A fun, obviously very very very VERY wrong, idea I think about is Trump breaking the country on purpose to reveal the flaws and loopholes, to force action to fix them. A benevolent imbecile. I wish it were the case.
Most people keep their heads down and try to lead on their lives, feeling powerless against the gov. Once people have nothing left to lose, they will start fighting back but who knows when that'll happen.
I think it's kinda hard to find spaces where people are gonna be willfully ignorant of the issues currently plaguing our lives. Sure, everyone wants a break from it and not think about it the latest infringement on our rights but outrage fatigue is something we need to be aware of.
