    Iran War Megathread

  • Is there anyone that can help an out of the loop fellow such as myself? I know of the war but I have no idea how and why it started. I thought Israel was all over palestine as of late. And now everyone in the area and the USA are involved?

  • Not only do they get the credit, they also get tax benefits from the donation.

Update: Seems I am incorrect! Thanks for the polite discourse.

  • I've bought a hyperx cloud III and I'm having no issues. Feels solid and audio is good. No complaints about the microphone from my cohorts. Mine is wired but I believe they sell it wireless for a bit of a premium.

  • Weirdly enough I started getting ads in my home feed. Occasionally, ads are appearing in video now as well. Not sure what's happened.

  • They'll also grumble something about DOW at 50 thousand

  • I don't think there's a guarantee you'll be blind. It looks like you have a pretty decent astigmatism in both eyes and are reasonably farsighted. Those values are however quite small relative to some of the folks (especially the elderly) I've passed in and out of the optometrist.

As for no glasses giving you perfect vision, it's hard to say without being an optometrist myself. I'd try hopping around to different optometrists to get different fittings and opinions. It is a bit of a gamble especially when eyes can change year to year.

Make sure to wear sunglasses when it's sunny and limit excessive screen time and hopefully that should limit the negative changes to your eyesight.

  • I looked around and found that lithium ion batteries will range from 100-270 Wh/kg and up to 10 kW/kg.

So these particular batteries are sort of an improvement, less energy by weight but better power if I understand correctly. Definitely not an expert.

  • I believe a phone number will work in most cases.

  • I wish I could watch it for the first time again. Absolutely stellar writing!

  • Funny you mention piggybacking onto Europe as that was my first thought too! The way the article brought up simpler transfers and a digital euro made me think of Canada and e-transfers. There must be some way to make it work.

  • It would definitely be great to get away from Visa and MasterCard but Canada is significantly smaller than the EU population wise. Even the article says it will be trouble to reach a breaking point to make vendors acknowledge another payment method outside of common credit cards.

Love the idea and I hope the EU can make some waves to move everyone away from US tech.

  • They must have come up with some sort of plan to merit losing some nitro users for harvesting personal information.

  • I always thought fallen angels had their wings stripped rather than choosing to not be there. Unless that was the reason they had their wings taken of course.

  • Scurvy is depressing so this checks out.

  • I see that now! A little hard to spot at first, the construction males it much more obvious.

  • Bonus points if they raise the entry from the road to the parking lot to separate things further!

  • Situation, Task, Action, Result.

A basic guideline for answering questions with some degree of completeness.

  • Alberta, we are unregulated in the fact we get to choose retailers but that's more of an illusion of choice. I believe the distribution and transmission are regulated.

  • It's probably hard to find somewhere without food cost issues. I'm guessing inflation is being used as an excuse to crank up food prices well beyond the actual inflation value.

If we could lower the rest of the cost of living, food cost would hurt less. Housing is expensive, utilities are unregulated, and gasoline, despite its various subsidies, keeps a relatively high price.
