  • Since it’s the worst possible thing he could do, it’s probably what Trump will do.

  • Cool stuff from the web & interesting conversations, no charge, and signing up is easier than you've been led to believe.

  • Voting blue-no-matter-who has given us a parade of Democrats who stand for nothing, do nothing, and eagerly cooperate with fascism. I'm too old to waste another vote on such a charade.

  • I've learned something from you. Thanks for the clarification.

  • In what sense is this "like a military occupation," instead of simply a military occupation?

  • That's by far the finest Dilbert comic ever, so of course it's not from Scott Adams.

  • If/when Gavin Newsom is the candidate, I'll vote for someone else, or won't vote.

  • I've never used Qwant or Ecosia, but I'll wager their ads are as easy to block as the ads in Google search.

  • Whoa, spam filtering is Gmail's only advantage over generic email.

I've migrated away, but still have my legacy Gmail account, but this'll get me gone completely.

  • In "full crisis mode," this should be the first step, and I hope it's what Denmark & Greenland do.

  • This seems like just about the tinyest conceivable violation of journalistic ethics, which is rich indeed coming from the New York Times, which still parrots Trump's lies as if they're plausible.

  • The headline refers to these boats as "alleged drug vessels," but "alleged" means charges that haven't been proven in court. By plan, there people will never be charged or see a courtroom, and never have any chance to be innocent until proven guilty. Only the Trump administration — a very, very unreliable source — says they're drug smugglers or "narco-terrorists," but the only thing we know with certainty is that they're target practice, which makes these killings premeditated murder.

  • Admittedly, I hang out with good people not shit-heads, but I don't know anyone who'd hesitate to vote for a woman because she's a woman. Give us someone worth voting for, and you'll have our votes.

  • Why do you add the quotes, OP? Is there a better 'answer' that New Jersey could feasibly offer?

  • This is murder, illegal under American and international law.

  • For Trump, raping kids is just politics as usual.

  • Sounds like a bribe hasn't yet been paid.

  • When I was young and naïve in my 50s, I thought US cars had safety requirements, and the era of rolling death traps had been beaten back by Ralph Nader. Must've been my mistake. Is there nobody in the government looking at safety issues like un-openable doors?

  • One might get the impression the Trump admin isn't particularly opposed to human trafficking. Perhaps Bari Weiss over organize a CBS News debate on the topic.
