  • I assume that rule 2 is more of a "don't post memes that contain politicians", since nearly everything that we say or do is political in some sense.

  • They describe building something "with soul" but also that they used AI to code it.

I'm glad they're honest about it, but this doesn't interest me.

  • "now" is odd phrasing from an 8 day old account.

I think I've seen this artist's work posted here for over a year.

  • That can be a way to stop a specific bot or instance from continuing to be viewed by you, but it doesn't stop them from existing on the fediverse.

One of the main upsides to the fediverse is that it's open and connected. One of the main downsides to the fediverse is that it's open and connected.

  • The first amendment's "free speech" means that the government isn't able to charge you for what you say (unless it's like a death threat, or hate-speech)

The right to free speech is not applied in any other circumstances. It's not about your workplace, it's about the government.

You do not have the right to say whatever you want at work. They could even make a policy that saying "thank-you" was against the interests of the company, and fire you for saying "thank-you" too often.

People from other countries should not know the laws of your country better than you do.

  • There's nothing that can be done to stop it, but you can downvote or block things to try to reduce their reach.

  • The butcher doesn't kill the animal, the people at the abattoir do, so it was likely that he never had to think of any of the mechanics.

The article also mentions that it was a seasoned meat business. If it was a shop that specializes in something like custome sausages, the "butcher shop" might not even break down the animals themselves, just mix things together.

  • I think people have an idealized view of a cute red barn in the middle of a large field, and a farmer who sheds a tear and while thanking the animal for the sustenance it is about to provide before they quickly and quietly kill the animal.

They don't see how nearly anything that gets in the way of efficiency is removed in order to make more money, and how loud and bloody and stressful everything is.

  • BBb has to do with tubas.

What do tubas have to do with little Bo peep?

  • It looks like you accidentally made your post in the larger header font. If you remove the hyphen at the end, it'll be normal size again.

  • That lines up mathematically.

  • Two coins isn't the same thing mathematically.

    If heads = 1 and tails = 2 then:1+1=21+2=32+1=32+2=4Average is 3, and the lowest is 2.

D4: 1234Average is 2.5, and the lowest result is 1.

d8/2 (rounded up):1/2=12/2=13/2=24/2=25/2=36/2=37/2=48/2=4Average is 2.5, and the lowest result is 1.

  • They're great and cheap, as is Lüm.

Other provinces had similar set-ups in the past, but they've been sold off. Then phone plans got more expensive, and service got worse, in those provinces.

When the point of a corporation is to provide the best service, they aim for that goal. When the point of a corporation is to extract a profit, they aim for that goal instead.

  • The show is pretty blatant in the stance that Jesus was just a normal (non-magical, not a god) human philosopher who was a little mentally unwell, and how he started to believe the tall tales that other people were telling about him.

  • The random person on the street that a paper interviewed said that the content warnings were nonsense, not that a warning says that the show is nonsense.

  • This is an article about a different newspaper's quote from a random person who didn't like that the musical had a warning about fake blood.

I'm not from the UK, is The Standard known for being a content mill?

  • One of the reasons it's called "sex work" is to cover things that aren't explicitly money for penetrative sex. It also covers things like pornographers, strippers, domination, kink-play, and intimate massage. It's not always someone being bribed into doing something that they don't want to do, it's sometimes someone being paid because of their skill or appearance.

If prostitution was legal then people could ID beforehand, which should lead to less abuse.
