Mostly a backup account for now, other @Deebsters are available.

  • I enjoy the contradiction of middleend

  • They’re called "Arabic numerals" because the system was transmitted to Europe through medieval Arabic scholars, but they are universal

Funny thing is the Indo-Arabic/Hindu-Arabic numerals aren't the only ones used in Arabic-speaking countries. I've seen prices like ٣٥٠ (350) in places like Jordan and Egypt. Here's a chart:

I would say the familiar 0-9 system is understood globally, but I don't know about those Alpha Centaurians.

  • Given that the internet is a series of tubes, it's a better mnemonic since the pipe connection will help you remember it.

I figured out where the animals went then got tunnel vision and forgot 🤦‍♂️

  • You mean Cloudflare is down this evening. Timezones, how do they work?

  • Yup, as long as 6.5 is pronounced "six and a half" because "six point five" is too modern for old money.

    Edit: and ha'penny is pronounced HAYP-nee /h ɛ́j p n ɪj/

  • Well we had the "do not track" header but almost everyone ignored it, and in the end it was removed from most browsers because ironically it just made tracking people easier.

  • You haven't included a huge amount of the necessary information. If you want get help (or help others fix this), you should at a minimum add:

    • what device/OS are you on with versions
    • what version your Vogager is
    • where you installed it from (e.g. which app store or site)
    • whether you got an update recently - to your Vogager and/or your os
    • screenshots
  • But that's not how clocks work - when the day starts on a normal clock it's not 1 o'clock straight away, there's an hour that happens first. The label is at the end of the hour's segment.

Think about it this way: when a new day begins, where are the clock hands?

I did, the hour hand would be pointing at the (end of the) final hour, which is now eight. The minute hand's position is a whole different discussion.

  • Indeed, which is why 8 should be at the top.

The hours have been reassigned in reverse alphabetical order. This means the number which you hit at noon/midnight is "eight".

  • Often both! Miles on the outside as the main display, but km can be found on a smaller inner ring

  • Not everything is about the USA

  • Which ones are they?

  • I'm happy to believe it's intentional - some metahumour (metaprogrammerhumour).

  • The founder was asked to provide a subscription level for individual domains and he said no and pointed people at the suggestion to search manually or occasionally pay for a month instead.

HIBP subscriptions can be taken out monthly and cancelled at any time. If the appearance of your domain in a breach is infrequent, you can take out a one month subscription then immediately cancel it after performing the search (the subscription will remain active until the entire month period has elapsed).

  • If it takes me on average 5 minutes to login and change an email address, it would take me about 1 days, 18 hours to change them all! It definitely looks worth it for others who want to start using aliases.

  • Perhaps that message only shows up if some of the results are from the paid lists. For me, I don't see anything listed beneath, even though 34 addresses match, so I guess nothing's in the free lists.

edit: Looks like it's triggered on number of results:

Most domain searches are free. Once a domain has more than 10 breached email addresses on it, searching the domain requires a subscription. There are several ways to either reduce or entirely remove the need to have a subscription:
