    Like... I watched PewDiePie's intro and I already cringe so hard so I never got into it...

    Then later I tried it again, watching the PUBG videos... didn't even need to looked up the deleted bridge incident... he constantly makes uncomfortable jokes

    Same with another gameplay channel doing challenge runs in Resident Evil, not even gonna name them since its a tiny ass channel but dude keeps making "women bad" jokes and then he showed the maga hat on a shelf and claimed its just meming... yeahhh... nope out of there real quick

  • I got Covid at a summer job that mom forced me to do during the height of the epidemic... and because she told me that she regretted giving birth to before my 2nd dose of vaccine, I skipped it because I was being suicidal, so that's how I got covid.

    I wonder if I had heard that before the first dose and skipped it too, would I have died?

  • Besides those drives installed inside other devices, I have like 2 portable ssds and 1 portable hdd totalling like 4 TB

    bunch of micro sd cards...

    I treat it as an effective 1 TB of storage tho... I mean, I use the multiple storage device as redundancy. I'm not gonna actually treat this as I have 4TBs...

    Cloud storage is used as offsite backup.

    I have a shitty budget laptop and a steam deck and nintendo switch 2... I haven't even have the energy to play anything for months... mostly just binge watch anime and stuff...

    I don't have a desktop... I don't like the idea of a device that's contrained to only be used in one place... how do you even pack it if you wanna move?

    That said I don't really have a place I feel "home" yet... so my mind thinks more like a "nomad"

    I like using phone more often... cuz you have it with you everywhere, so I treat my phone as my "Main" device... If I type a document, I always copy it to be on my phone at all times...

    Hard to move stuff like a desktop pc or a bookshelf of books, dvds, game cartidges... so I kinda favor digital versions of stuff more than physical...

    I don't bother keeping "backups" of every media I watched, feels like it would cost too much for storage... when you factor in like replacements when drives eventually die... and the headache of having to manage all that... so I only keep irreplacible files like photos, documents,or my writings. And maybe like a .zim wikipedia file or a bunch of ebooks since those doesn't take much space.

    The thing with internet is that you can vent any time you want... seeking professional help takes time, like they're not on call 24/7 to listen to you...

    Sometimes I wish they created an actual AI (like an actual Artificial General Intelligence, not those LLM shit) for you to talk to.

    Sometimes I wish I could visit an alternate timeline where that version of my self "figured it out"... so maybe I could ask him for advice...

    Edit: To clairify what I mean. Social Democracy is still a Capitalist system, but its more regulated (under a democratic government) and has a social safety net... so the "innovation" stuff that is supposedly fueled by capitalism can still happen, but the worst aspects of capitalism is also mitigated.

    Critiques of capitalism can be advocating reform instead of revolution, so don't be so quick to dismiss all criticisms.

    I hate my former country, People's Republic of China...

    Sometimes my parents yell at me and I'm like: I hate being ethnic Chinese

    Like its not just government issue, there's whole cultural issue, with toxic masculinity, dismissal of emotions, ignoring mental struggles...

    I guess I should consider myself to be lucky enough to have emigrated... but then again the US is having its own corruption issue...

    So you never really escape all the problems, but still, there is not other option than the US, so I just learn to embrace it. It's still a better alternative to China (IMO)

    I mean... perfection is hard... I sometimes dream about being born norweigian instead... they seem to be so happy... better social safety net...

    I sometimes imagine the alternate timeline where I remained in China...

    oh jeez I feel depressed just thinking about it...

    The neighborhood I used to live in... it was just such a slum...

    So polluted... (not necessary any government's fault, just the reality of a developing country)

    And the authorities barely even care about safety regulations...

    Parents cant even trust the milk formulas...

    Do you politically oppose the government?

    If so, Maybe talk to some lawyers or human rights activists? Being a dissident, especially if you got on the government's radar, it might qualify you for political asylum abroad...

    Like try to pretend you want to go somewhere as a tourist or something... then just stay there and claim asylum... but be prepared to leave everything behind... also you could get denied so you might wanna gather evidence... have you been to any protests? take pictures... Screenshot any and all internet posts.. you need it to strengthen your asylum claim.
