  • i'm pretty new around here, so thanks for the tip, just cross-posted it now. cheers!

  • ah i fear there might be some performance issues, but definitely lmk if it runs and if so at what FPS :)

  • ah i loved Civ 2 :) could never get my hands on the original Civ 1 though. and thanks!

  • thanks :) if you do, lmk what you think, i'm actively updating the demo so all feedback is much appreciated

  • true, one of impacts on the resource economy, for example, is that here you don't have stockpile limits, but you have carrying capacities, so if you have more than you can carry it gets left behind when you move

  • thanks, excited to hear what you think

  • @athatet gave a great summary, and the Civ games are the biggest mainstream example of 4X games. there are many sub-genres and lots of games that use it as a foundation but extend it in various ways, and Folk Emerging does that too by centering around nomadic gameplay and complex ecosystems

  • glad to hear, let me know what you think! either here or in the feedback survey (link in the main menu)

  • glad you like it. i must credit At The Gates, which pioneered it afaik, and games like Old World that have improved on it over time

  • nice! yeah this is very much inspired by the early part of Civ, and the many hours I spent playing Civ 2 and 3 as a kid :)
