  • Just saw another post asking if Lemmy was worse than Reddit in terms of left wing nut jobs declaring that I love genocide because I won’t be gaslit into blaming her for Trump winning (who also loves this genocide). Lemmy is showing to be full of worse personalities than on reddit. . America has so much blood on its hands and yet you throw your vitriol at me. Not in the least surprised. The entitlement.

  • Im not American. I don’t really care about either of them but it’s incredibly gaslighty as I previously stated for left wing American voters to blame her for the rise of Trump. Further, she was running while she was VP. She couldn’t very well run a campaign that was opposite to the ‘current’ regimes stance on gaza could she? We’ll never know if she would have changed her position once it was her in office. Also, there are other genocides and atrocities currently occurring that get zero attention from press or western governments. Again, I applaud you for voting against Trump.

  • So does Trump (support genocide). But he’s also supporting a lot of other causes I strongly disagree with so, yes, I would carry water for her. This guy is zero sum.

  • US does have an issue with your two party system. But not voting is also a choice. I see you mentioned you voted for her. I’ve done the same in my country. The lesser of ‘two’ evils. In fact, many people did the same in our recent election to get the right person in even though we have multiple options which can usually shift the tide. In our case we collectively recognized that he was infinitely better than the main alternative. Your country did not do this but I applaud you for not being one of the voters (or non-voters) that I hold directly responsible for Trump getting a second term. I’m just astonished that now these non-voters are trying to pin the blame on her. The woman. So not surprising to be honest.

  • And you don’t (know what he said). You state ‘Trump claimed to be anti-genocide and invited Palestinian voices’ when during his campaign did he do that? What goal post did I move???

  • Did he claim that it was a genocide? I didn’t watch closely enough to get that sound bite but I do remember him talking about turning Gaza into a resort area. I cannot find ANY information where Trump stated a genocide was occurring in Gaza. Only the contrary.

  • So the left chose not to vote thereby allowing Trump to win. I won’t argue that what happened in Gaza is a genocide and she failed to recognize it as such publicly but not voting was a vote. So those left voters are largely responsible for him winning. Not her one stance which was not as bad as his stance on the same issue. Remember he wants beachfront resorts. And his other platforms are horrific. Democracy is about choice. They chose not to vote knowing what would happen. Now they’re trying to gaslight ‘us’ into believing it was her fault. P.S. I’m not ‘American’ so I see this through a different lens.

  • It is so gaslighty to try to blame her for Trumps win. He won because people chose either to vote for him or not vote because she wasn’t ’good enough’. If you think Trump is anti-genocide you’re delusional.

  • Not much different than euthanizatiom except for the cost of shipping them to a release site.

  • Feds blocked their sale to a group In China. So it’s not entirely on the province.

  • Apparently it costs 2 million per month to keep the belugas alive. Not sure I would want the government to be covering that cost. The issue is more complex than the headline but at the end of the day the corporation did not manage their money and now are in urgent need however, they also wanted to sell the animals to a group in China and the Feds blocked the sale. These animals were born in captivity so it’s hard to say if they would survive if released. It’s not a great situation.

  • For me, almost all the numbers were in my head (except for work numbers) as were birthdays. Now I can only remember two numbers and the absolute most important bdays (which is easier because they don’t change). My sense of direction remains abysmal.

  • I don’t think the US is secular anymore.

  • You just described Italy.

  • Yeah. Canada also has the same level of warning for Italy and most of Western Europe. I’m in Italy and the warning level seems alarming compared to the reality. I find it interesting that Canada doesn’t have the same level for the USA frankly. It makes me wonder about the diplomacy of the warnings compared to the factual reality.
