    Funny enough, I was able to replay RE 4 (before the remake) and it was pretty good.

    I'm pretty sure you can literally upload anything. Like I bet I can make a quick game called "I'll erase your hard drive" and the first thing you do is allow me to get admin/sudo access.

  • If you dug into history - with computers in the 70s-80s, we used to remotely dial into another computer. The terminal at your school (as home computers were pretty expensive) would dial into a stronger computer and you'd use up their resources.

    Every few years, I see that mentality coming back. Cloud computing. Chromebooks. Remote desktops. Stadia and gaming on-demand.

    Its fascinating.

  • I was arguing with a engineer two weeks ago about systems. I never met him before. But he had a few drinks and interrupted our conversation. And I nearly lost my shit because of how confident this guy was speaking, saying obvious things and being vague, while not saying anything at all. Like, "This system isn't good at all! We should all follow Clean Code principles!"

    Then someone pulled me aside and said, "Go easy on the guy. He's only been in the industry for a year."

    And I did feel bad. But also like, my dude... You are going to wake up to realizing you know nothing about everything.

    1. If it's a shit site, I don't want to give it clicks and revenue
    2. News sites have a history of manipulating the title over and more to maximize views
    3. Images are easy to scan within the Lemmy app. Versus kicking me to a browser that has to fetch data somewhere.
