  • I have no idea where you got that take from? There is always food in a capitalist system, only with shortages prices increase, and they have most certainly increased this year.

    But the point is the waste caused by the Trump administration for instance this part:

    Dozens of raids have not only violated immigrants’ human rights and torn families apart: They have jeopardized the national food supply. Farmworkers already work physically hard jobs for low wages. In legitimate fear for their lives and liberty, reports indicate that in some places 70% of people harvesting, processing and distributing food stopped showing up to work by mid-2025.

    News reports have identified many instances where crops have been left to rot in abandoned fields. Even the U.S. Department of Labor declared in October 2025 that aggressive farm raids drive farmworkers into hiding, leave substantial amounts of food unharvested and thus pose a “risk of supply shock-induced food shortages.”

    So no there is NOT enough food, if prices were lowered to normal the shortages would become way more obvious.

    It's a weird way to view things, to claim that actual shortages are due to "money shortages", when clearly spreading more money around, wouldn't create more food, but only possibly move the food away from other places and cause shortages there instead.

  • Every single European leader except Orban is super annoyed with Trump over this joke of a peace plan.There are pretty strong voices that the trying to sweet talk Trump has failed, it's time we tell him the truth.I really really hope European leaders will do that, and also explain to him how he undermines NATO and paves the way for China to do the same as Russia.Trump may not give a shit, but the American politicians who still have a shred of sense should.As it is we cannot use USA in NATO for anything, and we cannot rely on USA even as a for profit weapons supplier.USA tax Ukraine and Europe 10% extra for weapons exports to profit off the current situation, and they have given zero aid since Trump took over in January.USA is not an ally, they are a leech on former allies now.   • That's a very special case where EV is not suitable. The 2200 km in 26 hours you mention is very far from legal driving in most countries. Here you need resting periods, and AFAIK you can't legally drive more than 11 hours per day as a professional, so that trip would take 2 days here anyway, unless it's something you do for fun?So here (EU) that trip would in fact be possible with an EV with little loss of time, because of the mandatory resting periods, but maybe in Australia there wouldn't be the necessary infrastructure to charge on such long trips.
