  • I gave him a dollar so he'd go away.

  • Should be pretty easy to detect with the right equipment. Like I assume it's not doing much of that locally, so a wifi detector and triangulator will catch any wifi devices that are powered on and roaming proctors could carry bluetooth detectors for people trying to evade detection by using short range signals (and I guess processing it on their phone with wifi disabled).

  • On the other hand, we're currently in the midst of what many people already consider to be an AI bubble, so investing in new DRAM factories might be considered too risky, since the bubble might have popped before it even gets production going.

  • I'm glad I opted to start at 64GB ram on the PC I built about a year ago. Compared to the other parts like CPU and GPU, it felt relatively cheap to bump it up from 32GB.

Wondering if I should pull the trigger on more storage though... Don't really need it right now but eventually I'll probably need some.

  • About once every few weeks, I'll go visit my local blacksmith and he'll nail a new pair of pair of shoes right on to my giant toenail. Or maybe he repairs the old ones. I'm not too sure, he doesn't really tell me much. He just stands in places that make it really hard to kick him, and I only really wanted to do that the first time because I thought he was trying to steal my feet.

  • To elaborate on the "go for the fit, not the name", there's a common belief that shoes need some time to break in before they feel comfortable. This is only true if you get shoes that don't really fit your foot. There's more to feet variations than just the length. I learned that the first time I got lucky and one of the few shoes I was trying on in my mad dash to get shoes and go do something else asap fit my foot properly. It immediately made me realize that I need patience when getting shoes and to never buy a shoe that doesn't feel great right away.

If you're going for a designer shoe, I bet the odds of it perfectly fitting your foot are low, unless maybe you have the same foot type as Michael Jordan or whichever athlete's name they are putting on the shoe, assuming that athlete's foot was even part of the design at all. For all we know, they rip those shoes off as soon as the cameras aren't watching because it was purely a marketing thing.

  • Score! Free automated calendar!

Ah shit, it's not calibrated right. These guys moved these giant rocks but placed them where they would have needed to be 2000 years ago, not today. They should have added wheels or built it on a spinning plate.

  • It would be wild if DB Cooper followed up by watching for who would come out as a suspect and then planted the evidence on their relative's property after they died.

  • PIC

  • Brilliant! If the driver needs to accelerate hard, buddy is there to keep the sticks from falling off the back. If he brakes hard, the sticks are there to keep buddy from flying off the front.

  • If you write things down instead of just remembering them, you'll lose your ability to remember anything at all and will eventually start forgetting what you want to write by the time your chisel touches the stone!

Plus think of all the wasted rocks whenever you make a mistake and need to start over! What if we run out of rocks?? What will we stand on then?

  • Prediction: in a decade or two, there will be people complaining about this guy going political when they realize he's not being genuine here.

  • Now you are looking down from above at a pyramid and that same square is a flattened top.

  • I first heard the jokes as Vin Diesel jokes and always did think he was cooler than Chuck Norris. Like was I the only one completely not surprised that Walker, Texas Ranger turned out to be exactly what I expected him to be like?

  • Lol is it just me or are his eyes comically small in that video? Makes his wife look like an anime girl in comparison.

  • Yeah, I was talking about the magic of science or extreme coincidences.

Ultimately (having read your other reply), I don't think biological definitions are useful when it comes to social things like gender. It's just trying to change the argument into an easier one. "What is normal?" vs "what is possible?" or "what is ok?".

  • The word "make" does a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to pregnancy. A word like "nurture" might fit better. Once the sperm and egg combine, it starts doing its own thing, the mother's body just provides resources for it to continue growing and a safe place to do so for the first 9 months give or take.

So the way to make human egg cells would be to either be conceived as a female and have everything go well enough to grow those eggs, or probably some other methods involving introducing various chemicals to unspecialized cells to trick them into behaving as if that was happening.

  • I remember it tasting kinda like metalic basement smell, and basement smell was actually mold.

It wasn't deadly but probably wasn't great either.

  • There was another recent shooting that was caught on camera and was being meme'd before the end of the day.

  • Yeah, who the hell associates macs with higher competence? Before the 00s, I associated mac users with stumbling on the worse option but not realizing it, after the 00s, wanting to follow trends and/or overpay for hardware to seem rich. They've always been form over function, and simplicity over power, which are things that novice uses look for, not more experienced ones.

Or maybe more experienced ones when most of those experiences went badly and little was learned.
