R/punk had to do this too of all places. Yep, directly referencing Kirk in the post title would get it removed for being "out of topic" and too "political". In Reddit's biggest punk rock sub...
I thought that would happen after the failed Trump assassination. This one succeeded obviously, but Kirk is nowhere near as important to their movement as Trump is.
Oh for sure, that CEO is the asshole here. It's just that the public is so mobilized to right this particular wrong when both sides come from privilege.
One way to look at it is to compare it with the EV debate- the carbon expenditure to create a new EV far outweighs the net emissions of keeping an old combustion vehicle running for a year. But say you drive 20,000 miles a year. At some point (I forget the math but it's 5-10 years) you've closed the gap and now you've got a real net deduction of emissions per year (vs driving the ICE). It's gonna be a lot more variable with humans and the types of food we eat but there should be a similar crossover point there too.
Ok, I just saw episode 5 and it was INCREDIBLE. The best TV I've seen all year. The previous 4 episodes were hit or miss, but showed a lot of promise. But putting the spotlight on Morrow really made this episode shine. Hawley is a genius at crafting charismatic antagonists that steal every scene and Babou Ceesay delivered. My issues are with the Boy Kavalier and the transplanted kids. I'm not sure if its the writing or the acting that bugs me but I cringe whenever they're on screen. Wendy's brother is super annoying too.
"Recent years" for a 22 year old is literally his entire adult life.
