You may have noted the absence of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Nvidia’s Jensen Huang. It’s unclear whether they weren’t invited or had a scheduling conflict, but between DOGE, The Washington Post’s hard-right turn, and Nvidia’s dealmaking, it’s safe to say they’re already in Trump’s good graces.
I have no doubt in my mind there is a sizeable contingent of MAGA that have cooked up conspiracy theories about her planning Charlie's death to take over TP.
Why are all of the Big Tech CEOs so weird? The only one who could pass for human is Google's Sundar Pichai, and he's just the temporary placeholder for Larry Page and Sergey Brin. But like even among that weirdass group, Altman is an extra level of creepy. It's especially noticeable when he pretends to be excited about something.
Anyone who prefaces every criticism of Israel with a condemnation of KHAMMAS is an imperialist. And yet he still tries to cling on to his reputation as an egalitarian with hollow words of support for "oppressed people".
She would never win the primary anyway. I honestly think she would do better in the national election than the state by state primaries where the party gatekeeps their desired outcome.
This is actually worse than it sounds. Not only are new graduates unable to find a job, but they have taken on more college debt than any generation before them. More debt to pay off with a smaller than expected salary also means a lower chance to buy a home. They will be forever stuck in a cycle of paying debts and rent without building any real equity. They were talking about this crisis back when I was in college (late 90s) and it has only gotten worse since. This generation is turbofucked from all ends.
The net effect could potentially be worse. At least with the orange man in office a good chunk of the Dem base now vocally opposes US support of Israel when they were covering their eyes to ignore the genocide under Biden.
It's actually even more corrupt than that. The Trump administration recently bought a 10% stake in Intel. It also forbids Nvidia from selling their higher end AI chips to China. The speculation is that Nvidia's purchase of Intel is essentially a bribe to get Trump to loosen restrictions on sale to China (which made up a huge chunk of Nvidia's revenue before the ban). China's "ban" on Nvidia is for their lower end chips which are basically useless for the next generation of data centers (requires more energy spent for less compute). It was more of a negotiation to get access to Nvidia's Blackwell.
Congress never gave a shit about the right wing content that radicalized countless mass shooters. One fascist gets shot and all of a sudden online platforms are a top concern.
I know dudes who lookmaxx like it's a full time job- exhaustive daily grooming/exercise routines using the most expensive products they can afford, and here comes Luigi rolling out of a prison bed just effortlessly mogging them.
And I'd like to add that one of the reasons why Reddit is so high on this list is that they have positioned themselves as a source for easily scrapable data for the big AI players. It is now the highest priority of the company to appease the tech giants starved for cheap user content to feed its AI monsters. Reddit's stock has also gone up 300% in the last year just for these partnerships alone.
Because the absurdity makes a greater mockery of Kirk's death. It changes it from a principled political act to one done for the lulz. And anything that belittles Kirk is ok by me.
