  • One of the things I have always hated about american christmas movies is that ALL of them are rich people. Like the most disturbingly rich people. Always presented as like the totally average normal american.

    Not just Christmas movies but pretty much all family themed TV shows in America are set in mansion sized houses in the suburb of a major city while the parents hold middle class jobs.

  • We grew up in a world before AI so we have a frame of reference to compare it to. Just think about the people born into this slopfilled landscape where the content their young minds absorb will overwhelmingly be AI generated. It will be the normalized default for them. There is going to be a much sharper generational divide than the internet savvy millennial vs tech illiterate boomer that we saw in the early 00s.

  • EVERY German company and over half of Western European corporations and banks collaborated with Nazi Germany. Not to mention many of the biggest American companies of that time- GM, IBM, Ford, Kodak, etc. Most of the ones that still exist today have never been held accountable for their complicity. It's obscene how quickly they were able to whitewash their public image after the war.

  • Ha, I buy my sweet potatoes from Hmart (Korean grocer) because they have the best selection. Also the only place that sells the purple ones. I just steam them and eat it plain because they're tasty enough already.

  • Sweet potatoes are tastier and more nutritious than regular ol white potato. Not as versatile for cooking because it gets mushy and has a stronger flavor profile though. But if you're just eating them by themselves as a snack the sweet potato is far superior. Fun fact: despite their name and similar appearance they are from completely different botanical families.
