It's completely wild that this is acceptable in a modern democracy. One unqualified person is allowed to summarily over rule the entire judicial apparatus on a whim or bailing out a crony. American presidents are the kings of this banana republic.
The situation where a candidate is rejected because they don't have relevant experience is often decided by people who don't have that experience either. The last thing I want is a job where I immediately know how to do it. That's often the reason to leave - it's boring and not a challenge any more.

Started with caffeine as a child and never really stopped. School was a problem and I sought solace in cannabis as a teen. Eventually cannabis became toxic to my mental health and I quit it in my twenties, and alcohol somewhat filled the void. A ten year hiatus from all substances ensued but I hated my job and went back to education to retrain and this is where I really got into it with drugs.
Motivating long and boring tasks is ADHD kryptonite, as I'm sure many here are familiar. This particular motivational mountain was a PhD thesis and my weapons of choice were opioids, cocaine, amphetamine and benzodiazepines. Opioids are great for motivation, stimulants sharpen the concentration and benzos let me sleep. I was unaware of ADHD at this time but I knew something was wrong and that this cocktail was completely unsustainable.
Fast forward three years and I finally learn why I seek these things, it's ADHD, duh. Now I have the correct medication and therapy I never think about drugs. I'm happy and productive, I can work on undoing forty years of pretending to be someone without an attention deficit.
Interesting. I've been buying mine at 3 years and keeping them until they become uneconomic to repair. My current car is 11 and it's still in great shape.

We have to be the thing we want to see out in the world. If we want open source communities and an internet free of corporate influence then we have to do the work required to build them. It's not going to happen by magic.
Bear in mind it's sometimes difficult to know how we feel. 30mg is a good starter dose but most people take more than that. I settled on 40mg but 50 is also okay. I decided to take the lowest dose that would alleviate the symptoms and avoid most of the side effects. There are many different drugs - methylphenidate, amphetamine, methamphetamine, dexamphetamine, dextroamphetamine, etc. Give yourself time to get used to lisdexamfetamine but try something else if it's not effective.
It wasn't that long ago that nobody drove cars to school. This is probably a complete non issue in places like the Netherlands. I was banned from bringing my daughter to school on a bike because they reckoned it was dangerous. The irony that cars were allowed past the gates but not bicycles was lost along the way. Playing with children can be pretty exhausting. My daughter loved her Lego pirate ship set and had me narrating the lives of ten swashbuckling sailors on the high seas every day. I needed to be on top form or she would catch my day to day continuity errors 😅
