Yeah, I think that’s what that means. How it works is that you will reconfigure your system, which will load the new version into kexec. Then you can simply launch reboot --kexec to switch to your new system, including the new kernel.
Hey, Guix contributor here. We actually already have Gnome 48 almost done. Keep in mind that Guix is a rolling release so there is no need to wait a year to get the updates. I think we’re on pretty good pace to catch up with upstream before next year. Still, it takes a lot of effort to package gnome, especially with the growing reliance on systemd!
On keyboards that lack a physical Meta key, its functionality may be invoked by other keys such as the Windows key or Macintosh's Option key.[4] However, software often provides another workaround, such as using the Alt key (which does not exist on the Knight keyboard), or using the Esc key as a prefix (e.g., in Emacs). Because of these workarounds, the need for Meta – despite being the most-used additional modifier key – was less than for other modifier keys. It is more common today to use the Windows key to emulate the Super key.
I think the best way to get out of that situation would be "I'm not comfortable talking about this, can we change the subject?"
Unfortunately, as a vegan it seems like my existence can be an insult to some people. It shows a huge incoherence between thinking of themselves as good people and killing animals. That's why they always say things like "I couldn't…" "It must be so hard", "but I treat my chickens well".
It seems like the conflict is inevitable, so either they have to accept that or you have to accept you're not going to do anything about it, which is equally painful IMO. Well at least it really separates the people who are inclusive and ready to accept you as you are from the egocentric people.
Top!
