  • xwayland makes things a near drop in replacement for wayland and people still complain.

  • yeah the wayland effects are way nicer than what was possible on x11.

  • no way, all studies show students who do well academically out preform their peers post education.

  • There are incentives to learn. The smartest kids do far better than the average kid.

  • Wouldnt he see this when debugging since both mice have different mac address and typically you pair the device by calling its mac address. Maybe he dove way to deep and skipped the simple steps.

  • This could be huge. I hope they find a decent middle ground.

  • who says the entire captialist system is perfect? This is an example of government overreach and would be far worse under other eco frameworks.

  • I think its some gymnastics being preformed. They really want the new macbook and they're telling themselves they HAVE to spend that because their old device isnt good enough. If their old devices suddenly starts doing the job then shelling out 2k for a new laptop becomes unreasonable.

  • Thats fair, I dont expect every game to open up to linux. I know Kernel AC can be easily bypassed but it still filters some cheaters and raises the barrier to entry. It also gives a lot of people peace of mind.

  • My friend said they didnt want to try linux on their laptop because they wanted to buy a new laptop.

I wish I had that problem, I'd jump at the chance to save $2000 and preserve my current device by switching to a free operating system.

  • Even while people are getting snap and healthcare these companies should be left to fail

  • Yeah like stringing 5 chatgpt's together saying "you are scientist you are product lead engineer etc" is dumb but stringing together chatgpt into a coded tool into a vision model into a specific small time LLM is an interesting new way to build workflows for complex and dynamic tasks.

  • Not really. By breaking down the problem you can adjust the models to the task. There is a lot of work going into this stuff and there are ways to turn down the randomness to get more consistent outputs for simple tasks.

  • you can play on plutonium or something. It has it fixed

  • If I recall that was a bug. Generally windows does not randomly start rewriting boot partitions unless maybe you put it into repair mode from the boot menu and you have both partitions on the same disk.

  • Google doesn’t tell you that killing yourself is a good

    It does now! Thanks Gemini

  • you'd think they would be happy people are going out of their way to preserve the service. It gives them excuse to shut down their servers if they can point to these. but nope

  • You even see it here. People will post "quality journalism" and then it gets attacked because its nuanced and doesnt extrapolate into extreme claims.

People are so used to the rage-bait and bad journalism that its hard for actual reporting to break through. As well as it takes 1000x more effort to gather the evidence and story for quality reporting. Its bad, we need to start supporting journalists through gov subsidies and donations.

  • I hate games journalists. I'm sure there are some good ones but most of them are corporate trash and their reviews are thinly veiled ads. They dont care about the games they write about. They dont take the time to learn the games and are just generally bad at games. Basically the entire industry is just shitting out the most dogshit video game opinions 24/7. I'd rather go to Lemmy or Reddit and read what actual players have to say about games.
