  • OpenSUSE, Fedora, maybe Ubuntu. I'd avoid immutable style distros like bazzite. They make things easier at the beginning but have other downsides where "normal" solutions need additional steps.

  • Yeah I'm following the bugtracker since beginning of the year. I think it got worse with mesa 25. Before only this game crashed but I was able to push the GPU with things like StableDiffusion without problems. Now also that led to crashes.

    Most of the time the system gets completely unresponsive on wayland. With X or when only using one screen the system recovered most of the time with only the game and steam crashing.

    Didn't report to upstream yet, I will see if it's really stable now (see my update) and then post there.

  • Depends on your needs and resolution. You can always upgrade CPU to a Ryzen 5700x3d and the GPU to something like a rx6000 or rtx4000 series and get a big boost. No need do go all in with newest hardware.
