  • It's so stupid it hurts. And even if they get such a solution, nobody will come anymore.

  • As others said it all depends on what you expect. I run stable diffusion on my gaming pc with 32GB RAM and a AMD 9070xt and it works fine. Did also on a 6800xt before that one died. A GPU with 16GB RAM helps a lot, would say that 12GB is the minimum. Lower will limit you in the models and speed.

For LLM just try it out, they work fine without special hardware for smaller models and as long as you are the only user. There are tools like Jan or lmstudio which make it easy to run.

  • I find a shirt that fits? I buy 20!

  • I'm pretty sure they're exactly as "intelligent": not at all

  • Of course they are your own thoughs, well at least I hope so. It's just not the thoughts you want to follow now, and that takes a huge amount of energy to do so. Because they are all the same "volume". Not only that, the thoughts get mashed together and it can be impossible to distinguish between them.

So you sooner or later inevitably start following the wrong thought which spawns a dozen other seemingly random thoughts (but they are not random for you) and then you get yelled at because you're slow and made a lot of errors and hear once again "just focus on the task" or "why don't you just concentrate on what you're doing".

So if neurotypicals can simply focus by ignoring or by putting aside other thoughts, for neurodiverse this is "silence". Not in the meditative "empty your head, let all thoughts go" way, that's another huge step.

  • I don't think that this is what the person in the picture means, but the ability to focus on one thing while ignoring/put aside all the noise in your head. With ADHD the inside of your head sounds like being in the center of a fun fair, where it's almost impossible to hear your "own" thoughts.

  • Damn, that sucks. Out of curiosity, did you also try guanfacine? I read good things about it in articles but somehow never read actual experience from people who are actually affected and need an alternative to stimulants.

And yes, cardio helps a lot. I do some running and yoga, both are good in a physical way and for mindfulness.

  • Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. My wife says similar things after I finished tasks like this. "Doesn't if feel good to know that this task is done?" No, there is no positive feeling, not in that way. I'm happy it's over and that I wont get reminded to do it for the next weeks but I know that this is not what she means.

Doing this needs a lot of hard mental work, so well done op!

  • That was the first thing I noticed when taking meds for the first time: silence!

  • I get sleepy from methylphenidante. It's a strange feeling to get tired and being able to focus better at the same time. Changing to lisdexamfetamin helped a lot.

  • Unfortunately AMD is affected by RAM shortage too.

  • Latency shouldn't be a big problem if it doesn't have massive spikes. Packet loss could be a problem, seems like Jellyfin doesn't have an option zu increase the buffer size which may help. Or the problem is in combination with transcoding.

  • Maybe we don't talk about the same. The uplink at OPs router isn't the problem, there is enough upload speed so that others in Europe can stream. Users in Asia don't have enough bandwidth, so there's a bottleneck somewhere in between.

And yes, a VPN could help by routing the traffic through other hops, but chances are that it doesn't help or even make it worse, but it's worth trying.

  • Gridlock

  • The uplink isn't the problem as it works for viewers in Europe.

  • WTF that's way to much insights in data that shouldn't be collected in first place.
