The French post office used to have TGV sets dedicated to carrying mail. (Not sure if they were just a passive freight carrier or a mobile sorting office like the Night Mail in early-20th-century Britain.)

Other than the tiny Rhaeto-Romansch-speaking minority, there are no Swiss, just some French, Germans and Italians with delusions of nationhood. (To be fair, there are a lot of Germans.) Meanwhile, the Northern Irish are English (which would surely delight the marchers in their bowler hats and Masonic aprons).
I’d like to see OPEN LOOK come back. It was like a 90s precursor to Frutiger Aero; flat bas-relief shading of the era when GPU compositing, or even true colour, couldn’t be taken as a given, though with an architectural aesthetic elegance, quite a bit more spacious and lighter than the brutalistically clunky Motif.
Police have UPS-like devices which splice into existing mains cables to keep machines alive on the way into the forensics lab. Presumably it’s standard practice to use those.
Of course, the server could be configured to wipe itself if it loses connectivity for more than a few seconds, or its routing changes. The police would need devices that route Ethernet traffic over 5G, though those would presumably be detectable as bandwidth goes down and latency goes up.
There was also the result of drawing a sharp line between the in-group and everyone else. If we have strict dietary laws but the people on the other side of the hill don’t share them, then it follows that they’re unspeakable barbarians, and that we should not trade or cooperate with them, let alone intermarry, and indeed, it’s acceptable to kill them and take their stuff, as surely such a barbarous people would do the same to us.
