  • Damn, that's underhanded. I know every purchase is a license to view the material, not own it, but come on!

  • Real space battles are probably like split-second flypasts repeated until one spacecraft is destroyed. The likelihood of both spacecraft voluntarily keeping the speed between them below 100m/s is very low.

  • I still can't get used to her eyes, which makes her a perfect casting.

  • You sir, are suggesting that Star Wars makes logical hard-sci-fi sense which it has not. Please refer to first minute of movie where you can hear engines and laser fire.

  • Yes.

  • I get the impression it's a very balanced relationship: Fedora develops, Redhat devs perfect, then it gets thrown back to Fedora. I'm not well read on the subject, but Fedora isn't hating on their positioning.

  • If you feel like travelling (leaving the country for quite some time), you could go into teaching abroad, or for much less money, be a scuba instructor. Apologies if it sounds like a half hearted answer but this is literally what me and friends do.

  • You can downvote a post on Lemmy but you're still looking at it, maybe examining it, thinking, is this post relevant to others?

So not having an algorithm to remove it from your life completely makes you less of a neuron-firing drone and more a consciously thinking person.

  • With personal computers or laptops looking to be more expensive, Microsoft Cloud being available by this point seems more than just coincidence.

  • Linda and Leslie Hamilton, yes

  • I didn't know what to say but you nabbed it.

Also reminds me of the motor effect: electromagnetism causing motion. Perhaps that's why the name 'electric motor' became so dominant...

  • I'm guessing because it's a process in which you need to show a valid ticket of travel (or buy it) while 'boarding'. Like onboarding or something.

  • 0?

  • Two bodies, rigid theory.

    Three bodies, chaos theory.

  • Has anyone used a bidet? Someone in this thread got me curious. Why are they so highly rated?

  • I was going to say are you sure you mistyped bidets instead of something else, and then you really rounded it off with bidets.
