Agreed, and it's sad. I mean, I work at a highly technical engineering company. Everyone has at least a BS, and this guy was probably in his 60s with 30+ years of experience. Yet here he was repeatedly farting by a woman because they had a disagreement. It shows you that age and education don't guarantee maturity.
She wasn't interested in suing, she just wanted him to stop farting in her doorway. I didn't know the guy, so I started by talking to his manager, who talked to the guy. Sounds like he initially tried to deny it, but in a way that made it clear he was doing it on purpose. His boss was pretty clear that it wouldn't be tolerated and it never happened again.
It's always risky trying to interpret Trump's words, but my interpretation of what he was trying to say is that the magazine used a drawing of Kamala that made her look beautiful, with the unsaid thing being that he thinks she's ugly in real life. That's why he was going on about the artist.
Early on there were people posting that liberals should vote RFKjr rather than Biden, and a number of us would ask how he's closer to being a Biden alternative than a Trump alternative. It was a stupid plan, and I love that they're being caught out in being disingenuous by saying they'll have to drop out rather than take votes from Trump.
I had a female employee come to me to complain years ago. She had had a disagreement with an older male employee (thankfully not mine) some weeks prior, and since then, every time he walked by her cube, he'd pause at her doorway, fart, and then keep walking without saying anything.
She at least was aware of how absolutely ridiculous it was, but legitimately didn't think it was something she should have to deal with. One of the stranger management issues.
Kennedy Lindsey had a short sword, a steel tactical whip, a collapsible baton, pepper spray, a butterfly knife and a flashlight taser in her possession when a U.S. Secret Service officer searched her backpack, according to an FBI affidavit.
But it was a peaceful crowd who just happened to gather to hear the president speak, and then wanted to do some sightseeing of the capitol.
Gee, you think the guy who was the first president not to support a peaceful transfer of power, who tried to subvert the government by an organized mob, and who hasn't expressed any wrongdoing at all might not be nice about it this time?
My only quibble is that the transfer of power itself will be fine, because it would be between Biden and Harris. Trump wouldn't have any official power, and anything he and his supporters do couldn't be interpreted as official acts.
They're are two stores close to me, and I've been to both of them this week. One of them had the scanner, the other didn't. I'm not really sure how it helps them, but it didn't hold me up any either.
But if you live in a state that is overwhelmingly one party, your states votes are going to go to that candidate. I live in California, and there not much chance that any California delegates are going to go to Trump. True, the districts didn't matter for the EC votes, but that doesn't mean everyone's vote counts the same.
Also worth mentioning that the number of votes each state gets is based on very outdated logic.
It would be different if there were no EC and it was decided based on the national popular vote.
Bernie was very popular in blue cities, but middle America thinks he's a nut job. There's zero chance he would have done as well as Biden in a general election for exactly the reasons I'm concerned about here.
I get what you're saying, but it's just so vital that we win this one. I'd rather have a ticket that was less optimal from my personal point of view if it makes us more likely to win. Having a wonderfully progressive ticket that loses the election would be a very, very bad thing.
I'm one of those in the large group of people the article mentions not being familiar with him, so this was very helpful. He honestly sounds great. I just hope he isn't too progressive for the moderate voters, but it sure works for me personally.
This broader issue has been bad for a while. I honestly wonder if our climate change situation would be better today if the media hadn't given equal time to scientists who didn't think there was human-influenced climate change, even though they were an infinitesimally small fraction of climate scientists. I can understand why some people thought it was a debate among scientists long after it was broadly accepted.
Likewise, treating every wholly fabricated lie that Trump spouts out like it deserves consideration gives him underserved legitimacy.
