Because Western media omits so much, it feels like an effective anti-imperialist needs to be fluent in Spanish, Korean, Russian, Ukrainian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Malayalam, etc.

Quite often I'll see a media story which sets of my BS detector, and I get an urge to dig into the source material to figure out exactly how they're lying, but searching for English keywords on foreign language social media is pointless!

The lack of fluency makes me/us totally dependent on English-speaking bilingual people from those regions who have the time, interest, and energy to educate us poor Westerners on events (e.g. Dr. Luna Oi). That's a lot to ask of people!

That's why I get extra furious when the empire crushes any of the few foreign independent voices that are out there, like when the Biden regime attacked Africa Stream, forcing them to shutter earlier this year.

Meanwhile, imperialist stooges can just passively absorb the propaganda around them. It's not fair!
