From resistance to revision? How Taiwan textbooks alter WWII history | CGTN

August 15 marks 80 years since Japan's surrender in WWII. But in Taiwan, many young people don't know the full story. Textbooks have replaced "Japanese occupation" with "Japanese governance," giving history a pro-Japanese spin. Over the past 30 years, sweeping curriculum changes have aimed to cut cultural ties with the mainland.
