This video is an analysis on migration to Australia by an ex cop involved in anti terrorism. It dives into the pros and cons of migration to Australia and what immigrants really offer.

This isn’t a right wing froth video, nor is it a rejection of migration, and the cop is a decent human despite your view on cops.

It’s a clickbait title that sounds like it’s going to be listing a bunch of reasons why it’s actually ok to be a little bit racist sometimes…

When I went researching the guy to find out more, I discovered that he’s an ex cop/counter terrorist who started a podcast so he can finally speak “unshackled by his position”.

        Which cemented my initial assumptions…

Yes, I should have prefaced it a bit better. But yeah he’s one of the few out there that actually knows the subject.

It’s a terrible title, for exactly the reason you state and I also looked him up before I watched it and made a similar assumption. But he is very even handed in his analysis and doesn’t push racist or right wing talking points (he has a minor rant against racism in social media and makes fun of Trump and Hanson throughout). I think he’s pretty successful in presenting data and facts with a minimum of ideology.

I wonder whether he intentionally chose that title to trick right wingers into watching it and be exposed to some actual facts.

This is a pretty even handed discussion that tries to do what it claims, look at the facts and figures with a minimum of ideology. The TLDR is that there’s a massive amount of benefits to the immigration that Australia brings in and cutting it back would require a lot of planning and investment to compensate for what’s lost.

OP, if you’re going to post a video like this ffs write a description. I assume the downvotes are from people who didn’t watch it but assumed its some racist bullshit (which I also suspected it was going to be but decided to check so that I could continue to procrastinate about getting back to work).

Yeah, you’re right I probably should have prefaced this, but my expectations of people here are (perhaps mistakenly) higher than elsewhere.

A video is a bit of an investment, let people know what they are getting into if you can using brackets [ ] to add to the video title.

It might also help if the title didn’t frame itself as a neo-Nazi talking point.

So anyone out of the downvoters here actually watched this or know who Carrick Ryan is?

The bloke who made this video is an ex agent from the NSW task force involved in apprehending terrorists.

This is not a right wing froth video. It’s a rational discussion about it by someone who actually knows what they’re talking about.

I’m tired of hearing about this immigration bs.

I’m tired of people pretending it’s rational discussion

The only reason it’s being discussed at all is because the racist redhead relies on community outage as a vehicle for her political campaign. Let’s not play her game

The ones pushing this agenda the most are the same ones who often support the literal convicted criminal in US and are trying to interfere with a war crimes case (BRS).

It’s not a rational discussion because the people discussing it the most are immigrants and apply standards differently to themselves.

In real life nobody cares about this, except the people who have made racism their identity. I’ve been threatened at least 3x in my life, and someone I know was murdered (someone who threatened me once actually). None of those people including the person who is in court now for murder were recent migrants. In fact, in the hiking community, it tends to be the recent migrants who cause less issues I found
