You should be prepared for the possibility you may need to. You will probably need to change your jewellery though as you get growth even if you do keep the piercings.
I ultimately let mine go before I started HRT, but mine had never settled down and fully healed, so I didn’t want to deal with that whilst HRT was doing its thing.

The only reason I don’t use Niri or Cosmic as my daily driver is because is because of the lack of HDR. I won’t touch Hyprland either, so at the moment, I’m just waiting for cosmic or Niri to get HDR.

Installing arch with the arch install script is the hardest step, but it’s quite managable if you’ve got decent computer literacy, but no linux knowledge (and it becomes a trivial step if you use an arch based distro that uses calamares).
And once you’re up and running, it’s easy.
As I said, that’s how I started with linux a few years back, and I came in to it with no linux knowledge. I moved from Arch to CachyOS at some point, but Arch was easy enough. I can speak to this scenario from first hand experience!

Don’t look at the URL… It’s an even bigger spoiler

I started with arch and moved to cachy a few years back. You don’t need Linux experience, just computer literacy.

One lady I met said that one day, in her late 50s, she simply woke up and was a woman. She had no dysphoria before that, no longing or yearning for someone she wanted to be but couldn’t. She’d been transitioned for 5 years or so by the time I met her.
I have another friend who has never experienced dysphoria in a way she would recognise it. Instead, she said that transitioning, and simply exploring her gender in the early days, brought her joy. No envy, no body discomfort, no pain at the assumptions people made about her gender, but instead, happiness when she started to live life on her own term.
And then there was me. Strong body dysphoria from my earliest memories. A strong sense of the life of mine that should have been, and a lifelong longing and pain from the knowledge I could never have it (spoiler - I was wrong about this, but it was how I perceived things at the time)
So, no, there is no amount of dysphoria you need to experience, and you in fact, don’t need to experience dysphoria at all.
My favourite place in the world

I hope you keep us all updated! I can live vicariously through you! :)

What’s your derby name?!
I used to play before covid, but haven’t gone back since. I still miss it, but I haven’t gone back (yet?)

Anyone in a relationship should have the exact same rights as anyone not in a relationship.
They don’t though. Straight mono relationships have significant advantage. Moreso with marriage.
don’t they have actual problems to address?
You literally just highlighted the problem…
I’m not sure about that. I have aphantasia, so no visual memories. My problem is with past events, they often feel like they’re disconnected from me. I don’t have a first person sense of my childhood for example. I can remember what happened, but I don’t so much remember it happening.
Photography for me is a way of anchoring myself to the event. When I look at a photo of something, it takes me back there in a way my memory can’t.
When I first heard about them, I thought they sounded useful. I’m a photographer, and one of the challenges is not always having a camera handy when you need it, so the idea of a readily available camera for taking photos of birds, sunsets, landscapes etc, and the ability to use them as ear phones etc sounded kinda neat. I spoke to some vision impaired folk at my local parkrun who use them to help identify what they’re looking at, or read things they can’t read etc. This was in the early days, when I was still a bit naive about where they would go. To me, they sounded like nifty technology.
And then Meta cranked up the creepy spy factor, and people started doing really creepy things with them.
It shouldn’t have surprised me, but it did…
It’s home assistant showing air con integration, with a custom graph. The coloured solid lines are sensors around the house, the green band is the temperature range we try and keep the house. The two coloured dotted lines are outdoor sensors, so we can see how the external temperature is impacting the internal temps, and the grey dotted line is the the temp provided by a weather service for our suburb.
Yeah, there’s not much point in spending money on z-wave today, but we had some old devices laying around, so we put them to use! :)
This is an old z-wave 6 in 1 sensor that was brought out of retirement when we spun up home assistant again.
It spikes even when not in direct sunlight, so I think it may just be past its prime. We’ve got plenty of others integrated, and a weather station in the back yard, so this one was more just a case of using a sensor we had laying around then needing to use it.
There was no real cat. That particular sensor seems to read high during the peak temperatures of the day, and likely needs to be replaced.

I wing it. There might be some big ticket things I know I’m going to do, but even those, I know I’m going to do them, but I organise it on the fly when I’m there.
