Turns out that when you base a form of government on faith that everyone will participate fairly, it’s particularly vulnerable to destruction by those who proclaim their faith to be the end all be all. That we had no mechanism to block a coup leader from becoming president is evidence enough. His coup worked once, it will be used again by him and others in the future unless we bring out the guillotine to enforce those laws.
