Weird to call this a “vehicle tracking law” when its whole idea is to give drivers the option to turn the tracking off.
FTA (emphasis mine):
The 2024 California law requires automakers to set up a clear process for drivers to submit a copy of a restraining order or other documentation and request termination of another driver’s remote access within two business days. It also mandated that carmakers enable drivers to easily turn off location access from inside the vehicle.
Man I would fucking love to have the ability to actually turn the fucking spyware off in my car.
Would be fantastic.
Its called buying older cars and fixing them.
Or tracking down the telematics antenna and 5G antenna (likely the same) and removing/blocking it.
