I made the comment because I think it’s important for people like me to be visible and active, because accusations of antisemitism have so often been used as a shield for the racist, colonialist project of Zionism. Certainly since October 7th, claims of antisemitism are increasingly less effective in smearing public figures who don’t deserve it, but I’m not going to stop making sure everyone around me knows that it’s not antisemitic to support Palestinian freedom until the whole world knows it. Part of that is divorcing Zionist ideology from ethno-religious Judaism. To that end, one of many things these people should be ashamed of themselves for is calling their organization “Jewish”.
