I know we have it way easier than others, but I’m dreading these temperatures.

      … france? By the med?

Because it seems kinda like spanish (lunes , martes), but instead of Mie it’s Mer, which makes me think it’s merundi or something? mercredi.

Bordeaux, so the west coast, but you were pretty close!

Sincere sympathies. Do you have a plan for coping to some extent?

We’ve got 39 predicted in the Met Office app. Keep the sunlight out and get aircon for the bedroom. If you don’t have a/c the sleep naked with a thin blanket and a fan on you.

Thanks for the heads up! I can’t sleep or relax without a weighted blanket. But I might get bedroom a/c. Can you recommend a unit? The ones I’ve looked at so far on line seem fairly cumbersome but maybe that’s just the nature of them.

My British friends facing 37C. It’ll be hell over here and superhell over there.

I’d recommend getting a lot of ice cream and cool drinks on hand. And maybe a bathtub full of room temp water.

We have no bath anymore. It was replaced with a shower! But the cold drinks are a good suggestion. Another one that helped me a lot last time was making a t-shirt damp and putting it in the freezer for 20+ minutes. When I wore it and the fan was facing me, it was great.

Genuinely great idea. Another trick one of my friends use is to dose his head in water, and the damp hair helps reduce the heat.

Cold showers for maybe 2 mins at a time are a great way to cool off

Or if that’s not possible, let cold water run over your palms.

Fill a bucket with water and put your feet in it.
