I saw a post somewhere yesterday for this cake, and knew I had to make it. I used this recipie:

The only thing I changed was I sliced fresh strawberries into a bowl and added a tablespoon of sugar to them. Let them sit for an hour or so and added them to the center layer of the cake on top of the cream.

Never made this before.

recipie calls for two 8" rounds, but I dont have maching pans so I made one 9" square, and one 6" round.

have not cut into it yet, but I am stoked for later :D

Depression cured for today at least. Love staying busy

      Though I havnt cut it yet, I did taste a small piece of the cake plain when doing the “moss” step

      forgot I did add a teaspoon each cardamom and ginger powder, and a pinch salt, I dont think the recipie called for salt which is wierd.

      Anyway, it surpised me! If anything, I tastes almost like macha, but really lightly. The flavor just blended right in, the lemon zest was noted too. Delicate sweet flavor.

      I think it will be good together with the mascapone cream and berries, but it doesnt taste overpowering at all!

    It looks lovely :)

    I’ve never seen spinach in a cake before! What a lovely color of sponge! I suppose it makes sense to use baby spinach - I’ve tossed some in smoothies and such without noticing much of a taste difference.

    Please update with your thoughts when you can taste a slice!

      Husband had two slices, which is not like him!

      Very good for summer and our in season berry harvests. Light, not too sweet, and fluffy/delicate. I didnt taste even anything earthy, the strawberries and lemon mascapone cream really are as bright as the cake is green

      absolutely delightful :D just make it
