Yeah we all hear the main arguments… AI is bad because of slop content, stealing from creators, brain rot & brain damage, privacy concerns and most importantly… how billionaires are just using it for their own selfish reasons
But I’m asking about YOU 🫵 personally. The individual. What do you really think about AI? Do you care or are you indifferent? Has it actually affected your day to day life?
What’s even your point? Making AI art is easy therefore it couldn’t possible have any value for any purpose?
I’m a software engineer by trade, a discipline where AI is also heavily encroaching on and there’s a danger of my job being automated away too (I’m not completely convinced it will be automated away but let’s assume for the sake of argument it will). It’s also a job that used to take a lot of skill and even creativity.
Unlike lots of artists tho I understand this is the same historical process that happened time and time again and that there’s nothing inherently special about my labor that makes it exempt from this historical process.
