the US military, specifically the Navy, has single-handedly created a safe global economy and the technological revolution we’ve been living in. without the massive miltary infrastructure the US maintained after WW2 we wouldn’t have advanced chipsets, medical supplies, and most countries outside of the US would likely fail. The US has made it so countries could expect a relatively safe and reliable shipping route for all the goods they import, and all the goods they export.
I’d prefer this role fall onto something similar to the UN, but let’s be honest, military by committee doesn’t seem to work. It takes a country obsessed with wanting more (capitalism), easily defensible homeland, and a fleet stronger than every other country combined.
