    I honestly think deodorant is 70% advertisement. People were fine without it a century ago. BO doesn’t bother me, except after intense exercise or if the person doesn’t shower, those are the only genuine use cases I can imagine. Otherwise—meh, a five minute shower every morning and after exercise would result in less consumerism and is preferable IMHO.
