    Dickens certainly thought it was a bad thing.

    “This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased.”

    • What we mean is: Not knowing something, i.e. ignorance, is fine (we don’t know everything even, most beings don’t).

      It’s when someone or somemany is close minded to learning new things, i.e. willful ignorance, that it’s a problem.
