Hi guys, As I can see on reddit forums, it seems like people has paid and orders been shipped for Batch 3 around june/july this year. This must mean the first couple of batches already has been shipped, or am I wrong? I am still excited and curious to hear from people, what their experience are with the phone, since I am thinking about placing an pre-order for the next batch shipping at the end of september. Do people in here know what is going on?
Many thanks.
@Bullerfar Hi, I think you got it a bit wrong. No finale phone has yet been produced.
There will be a Jolla Phone Day July 8, 2026, in Helsinki, Finland. The event serves as a launch party/gathering for the new Jolla phone, with 800 tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis. My guess is that the ones within the first batch will get their phones then.
So patience on the reviews. They will surely come, but in the summer and autumn.
Ah, thank you all for your answers. I gues I’ll just place my pre-order then and see what people are getting in the summer after. I mean, it have to be very horrible for me to cancel my order since I love the idea already of a linux phone which still supports my most crucial android apps for my daily use. In fact I already deleted a lot of google and other big tech apps I live without. So the change shouldn’t be too big.
First batch will be shipped in July and first ones will receive their devices in live meeting at Helsinki in 8.7. If I remember the date correctly. So nobody yet has the actual device ti make review.
I highly recommend to check forum.sailfishos.org. Jolla posts most updates there first!
part of me wants to move outside the united states just so i can have one of these. lol
I think quite a few people are using forwarding services to get these phones outside Europe. Maybe could be option for you too?
the issue for me is network coverage using a prepaid account.
phone carriers in the united states have opted to implement whitelists based on a phone’s imea number(s) to help mitigate political fallout from the american gov’t banning phones like they did w huawei, so the only way i can make this work is if i lock myself into a contract with a carrier for X years which requires providing my government issued identification/information along with it; giving them a means to track my whereabouts for as long as i use either the account or the phone forever.
i’m aware that they can do this w a prepaid account already, but it’s the most room-for-doubt option that’s available to me as an american who uses a smartphone.
I can see why you would like to move out from the states…
