2nd account I had in that BS site. Not only did my post ‘magically’ got deleted

Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit’s filters.

But now I’m getting this…again?! I used VPN and everything. What the crud! I just wanted to post on fan subreddits. This is BS. And I can’t even post for help because those will get deleted too the moment i submit.

Do not use a VPN. The IPs are widely known and give a pretty strong signal to Reddit’s heuristic algorithm that the account is ban evading. The alternative is a proxy (residential) which you may have more success with, or even better a mobile carrier IPv6 which rotates constantly and cannot be reliably associated with a specific user or type of user. A mobile hotspot that you can turn off and on again is likely the cheapest solution to create mass alt accounts that aren’t immediately flagged.

Also consider not performing any actions with the account other than viewing content for at least 7 days. Most subreddits have automod filters for account age and karma anyway.

Afaik they ban based on VPN IP by default, even on old accounts (rip my account there), and even in the chance using VPN is legitimate. But if they actively say “we don’t want you”, my advice would be, don’t act like you’re begging to go back to an abusive relationship.

That’s what I meant. Sorry if I sounded confusing.

And to @danio13@lemmy.world, hope your like your stay!

Also if you use microblogging platforms (e.g. Mastodon) and non-fediverse forums that don’t ban you for sneezing wrong and that have RSS feeds, might I suggest adding them to @birb@rss-parrot.net? Saves you having to manually go to each forum to see what’s new. =)

Going by reports I’d see, people I see banned from Reddit mainly were either promoting alternatives or using VPNs.

And since I experienced my own account being silently banned when I tried to log in, being logged to a VPN at the moment I tried to do it despite never having a problem before, and I hadn’t used it since I learned about ActivityPub so no local comments about the fediverse, seems very likely to be the case.

That, or they’re monitoring people even when the user is away from their platform, which would be creepy at best.
