I’m very sad to report that after all this time, I have an update on GeekFTW.

I received this DM from his partner and learned that he unexpectedly passed away back in January.

Out of respect, I’ve omitted Geek’s first name and his partner’s username from the screenshot, as I always got the vibe that Geek was very protective of his online anonymity. If they(the partner) give the okay, I will reveal it. I’ve replaced the screenshot with the unredacted one.

I initially asked permission to post this but I didn’t feel right sitting on this news and not sharing it with all of you. I’ve been given permission.

    Howdy folks. I’m GeekFTW’s partner. Sorry to have had to give you this terrible news and leave you wondering for so long. I’ve been going through his accounts slowly bit by bit, but damn is it hard. There really aren’t words for how much he meant to me. He was my best friend, my soulmate, my partner in crime. He was my everything.

    He went out for groceries on a Sunday morning and never came home. To say it was sudden and completely unexpected would be the understatement of the century.

    Thank you for putting his profile picture as a tribute and for being an awesome little community. Please give your loved ones an extra hug.
