I wish this was written by an actual person because the company culture of Deepseek compared to the other AI labs might actually be interesting but the actual text is just tedious. Sure the article makes me uncomfortable, because it lacks the actual depth of an article written by a human.
I’ve read plenty of human written articles with even less substance long before LLMs were thing. It definitely would be interesting to see an actual interview with somebody working at DeepSeek and what their day to day is like.
Just raw hunger, flat structure, and the audacity to actually think differently.

Not really what it’s saying though. The point the article is making is that DeepSeek encourages exploration for the sake of exploration. People have an idea and they can pursue and explore it without needing to justify how it’s going to be monetized immediately. We’re not talking about building something that’s well understood here. This is inherently an area of research and exploration because we’re still actively figuring out how to build these things.
