  • I've been meaning to read that, especially since I've been trying to read more Palestinian authors. But IMO this isn't like the British public being fascinated at their colonial possessions in the Indian subcontinent. This is more like if admiration of the USSR was more prevalent in the 1950s.   • I actually went to the article mentioned in the infographic. The author has examples of people that had (or still have?) bad opinions about Tigray. I think it's basically from historical commie infighting.The author goes into a lot of detail, but isn't at all convincing that the party supported the ethiopian government.

    Also, they include the trope of "If you protest about Palestine so much, why aren't you protesting THIS?! huh?" So fuck that article.

    That's horribly traumatic, and it's totally understandable how you'd become misanthropic with that experience. I'm trans, and i've never known a trans person that has died. That's from a combination of things. I have a small social network, which is mainly located in one of the better cities in the US for trans people. My point is that the state of the trans community is diverse. Things are bad and getting worse, and housing is a key to improving our situation

    My current place is jam packed.

    That's wonderful that you're doing that. I think it gives you license to have some bad ideas every once in a while. But cis-exclusionary rainbow capitalism aint it.
