The lacklustre performance of the F-35 is another good reason not to buy it, no?
In what way?
getting shot down, having a kill switch, and being made by back stabbing unreliable Yanks
Need more?
Did one get shot down? I remember one got hit but was able to make it back to a friendly base. They don’t have kill switches. That’s a myth. The maintenance spare parts are entirely controlled by the US so they could just cut you out of spare parts. With such a maintenance intensive jet, that would ground your fleet quickly with no need for the huge security risk of a killswitch. That’s more to your third point though and doesn’t have to do with performance.
Overall I think the F35 is a great fighter jet but plenty of countries should reject it purely to maintain greater controll of their own sovereignty. Also, with drones and loyal wingmen, air combat is evolving rapidly. It isn’t a great time to heavily invest in the best of the last generation.
I could’ve sworn I heard about the Netherlands discovering a backdoor in them. But nevermind credible, I can’t find any source at all to support that.

If another country can make jet engines like the US they should.
