I guess maybe the one thing that bothered me over the years about this strip is that Andy (Andrea) seems notably more together, attractive and younger than Roger, a bit like the dilemma / paradox of Marge sticking with Homer Simpson over the years.
IIRC the early drafts of Dennis the Menace also visually had this issue, before Ketchum later rendered the dad as roughly-equally attractive as the mom. Blondie is another one that might -appear- to have this issue, but I think that one’s moreso down to Dagwood being drawn as a quirky product of his times who never got a visual update, likely because it would have been too jarring on the eyes, and to long-time readers.
In the end, maybe it’s just a shallow, cosmetic complaint of mine, just that it does keep sticking out as I’ve read the strips across the years.
