Alderman? Are they related to endermen?

      For others (and also myself):

Role: Legislative members of city or town governments, often similar to a city councilor.

Origin: Derived from the Old English ealdorman (“elder man”), historically referring to high-ranking officials or magistrates.

Usage: Commonly used in US cities (e.g., Chicago, with 50 aldermen) and historically in Britain.

not really. Calling the alderman is like speaking right to the manager. Calling the 311 is like pointing out the issue to an employee. they should more directly be able to report issues to streets and sans or the park services to get these collected.
