Great to see new releases running well on the Deck, and I’ve been hearing a lot of praise the last couple days for Pragmata specifically.

Note: the default graphics settings default to fsr 1, you’ll have much better results switching to fsr 3.

Played the demo and it was pretty great but I’m not going anywhere near anything with Denuvo.

I think it’s important to note that this is not, in fact, a crack. The hypervisor bypass method is not a crack and does not work on all systems (e.g., Linux). This is particularly worth mentioning imho on a thread about a game being played on Steam Deck.

Thanks. I’m not entirely pro-piracy but in the case of Denuvo I will make an exception.

I would say that if you purchase the game, then I do not consider it pirating to crack the Denuvo, just for playing the game (without abusing anything). Although I can understand pirating without buying, because you don’t want to reward Denuvo and the company using it.

Does swapping the Proton version still causes issues for Denuvo? I mean if changing the Proton version can lock me out of the game, I’m not sure if I want pay and reward both companies for that.

The usual rule with denuvo is that if you change proton versions 5 times within 24 hours, it will lock you out for 24 hours.

As far as denuvo can tell, every proton version is a different PC, so they don’t want you sharing the game between more than 5 different PCs per day.

I think Proton-GE made some changes to prevent triggering the new device activation detection when changing versions (starting with GE 10-11).

Unfortunately I haven’t tried it much, it might have been intentionally undone by Denuvo in newer games, and I wouldn’t risk buying a new game to test it out.

I tinkered with the flaming mess that is Monster Hunter Wilds, but that game tried my patience one too many times and wasn’t even all that great once the performance issues were taken care of…
