Honda Motor Co. said it will start selling a China-built electric vehicle in Japan for the first time Friday, as the company turns to the reverse-import of models produced overseas to enhance its product lineup for domestic customers.
It’s really hard to determine when the right time to transition is. It’ll be costly to build a factory producing obsolete battery tech. Both Honda and Toyota are sitting on some large cash reserves. They see the writing on the wall it’s just tricky to know when to pull the trigger.
They missed the boat on research. Look at the BEV Toyota put out. Pathetic and outdated. Honda didn’t do a thing. And their CEOs still pushing an agenda of ICE vehicles. It’s just bad business.
Yeeeah this seems like a slippery slope. What happened to Honda?!
Pretty much all Japanese car makers went all in on hybrids, and are realizing too late they should have transitioned to BEV at some point.
