US military says it will blockade Iranian ports after ceasefire talks ended without agreement

President Donald Trump says the U.S. Navy will immediately begin a blockade of ships entering or leaving the Strait of Hormuz.

The president added that he has “instructed our Navy to seek and interdict every vessel in International Waters that has paid a toll to Iran. No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas.”

      From a geopolitical perspective, attacking a Venezuela-registered fishing boat is fundamentally different from attacking a Chinese- or Indian-registered oil tanker. Most of the boats they’ve attacked in the Caribbean were actually stateless and weren’t registered anywhere
