I skimmed through the article but I don’t understand why they decided to dump all the ammo and weapons instead of keeping them as a strategic reserve. Norway was a founding member of NATO so they clearly were worried about the USSR in the immediate aftermath of the war. Having enough German weapons to arm a national guard seems like it would have been preferable to just dumping it all.
