and literally like a minute later they’re now trying to hail a car to stop instead of shooting it, and rounding up civilians to put them in internment camps, so I guess they had gotten the indiscriminate slaughter out of their system by that point

    they go to the store bc they know they have to go hide out in the woods and they buy just the dumbest shit, I think like a container of beef jerky, a case of coca cola and a football

    Reminds me of the store scene from Patlabor 2, except at least there a senior officer comes in and chews the guys out for now knowing what to buy.

    Tbf, the jerky probably isn’t such a bad idea, it’s a type of food specifically invented to be long-lasting (although I’m not sure how well modern store-bought jerky would reflect that, I imagine the real historical stuff might not have been exactly the tastiest). Making sure to provision soda for your insurgent force is peak America though.
