In this tutorial we’re going to cover how to buy Monero, for cash by mail on the Haveno Decentralised Exchange. This was the most popular payment method back on LocalMonero, due to being an improvement over bank transfers (like SEPA in the EU) when it comes to trading larger volumes in the long run, as Cash cannot easily be traced by adversaries unlike bank transfers, making Cash by Mail one of the most private ways to exchange real world money for Monero.

Let me know if there’s anything i missed in that tutorial :)

Thank you @nihilism for the step by step guide. It is much appreciated and obviously you put a lot of effort into it. BUT here’s my stunned reaction to Haveno itself. I realize that beggars can’t be choosers right now, but my first reaction is Whaaaat? This is the great Haveno we’ve all been waiting for? Where the buyer has to make a deposit??! What for? And the buyer has to register a name and physical address? I realize these can be faked but I don’t think I like that being stored digitally as opposed to just being written on the return address of an anonymously printed shipping label as it was with local monero.

created this issue to address the buyers that start with 0 XMR https://github.com/haveno-dex/haveno/issues/963 but keep in mind that a reputation system might not lead anywhere here, thats why there is the security deposit system instead.

yea the proper documentation for each trade protocol has yet to be written, so this might change in the future
