Still leagues better than Western schools. This would have been much better for me (AuDHD) personally during my childhood, though I was gifted. I longed for better educational opportunities as a child. I craved learning, and school was severely disappointing for me. I could have been a much greater and prosperous person if I had the opportunities like these children. It may have been still a struggle regarding my sensory and inattentive issues, but I would have been so much happier and excited to learn and develop my brain. Plus given the socialist culture, I would have vibed better with the solidarity of my peers and instructors than in my school where I was constantly bullied by my peers and mistreated by hypocritical and ableist instructors.

It looks like the DPRK has made efforts towards treatment, awareness, and infrastructure for special education for people with disabilities, including neurodivergence:

      • Hope for Autism and Development Disabilities in the DPRK
      • A day in the life of a deaf school girl in North Korea
      • N. Hamgyong Province moves to improve education accessibility for disabled children

      Compared to Occupied Korea:

      • Korean autistic persons facing systemic stigmatization from middle education schools: daily survival on the edge as a puppet
